Alabama Health Officials Urge Prostate Screenings

State health officials are offering free prostate cancer screenings in West Alabama.
The Alabama Department of Public Health and the Urology Centers of Alabama are sponsoring the free tests, and will be held at several county health departments.
The schedule is:
September 20, 2008: Perry County Health Department
October 11, 2008: Wilcox County Health Department
October 25, 2008: Hale County Health Department
November 1, 2008: Marengo County Health Department.
According to a news release from the ADPH, one in every six men will get prostate cancer some time in his life.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with the exception of skin cancer.
Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death, after lung cancer.
