Alabama transportation officials say
construction work is likely to cause traffic delays on Interstate
65 South in Montgomery this weekend.
A bridge widening project will cause I-65 southbound to be
reduced to one lane from around 6 a.m. Saturday through midday
Sunday. The state Department of Transportation says it is putting
up signs to show motorists how they can avoid the construction by
using U.S. 31 from the Millbrook-Prattville exit north of
Montgomery to the Hope Hull exit south of Montgomery.
Motorists traveling south on I-65 to get to I-85 in Montgomery
can use the North Boulevard exit to reach I-85 on the east side of
the city.
