The Birmingham City Council again delayed a vote on the city’s FY09 budget.
At Tuesday’s council meeting, council members explained that concerns over the city’s use of fund balance dollars to balance the budget were the main issues.
Mayor Larry Langford says the comments are unfounded, because the Council knew months ago that the city would have to use a portion of the fund balance.
The city’s finance director says the city’s reserves stand at $119 million.
