Birmingham Detectives Probe 56th Homicide

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—- Birmingham police are working their 56th homicide of 2008 following a shooting near the intersection of Oporto Madrid Boulevard and First Avenue.
Lieutenant Scott Praytor confirms the victim died in route to the hospital and now they are investigating it as a homicide.
The victim’s name is unknown and this is second homicide in the last 17 hours in Birmingham.
