Child accidently shot

Sheriffs deputies say a 2 year old little girl was woulded when her Uncle’s rifle accidently went off. He was removing the gun from his truck when it discharged hitting the little girl. The accident happenen about 5:30 p.m. in the 7700 block of Taylor Shop Road in Clay near the St. Clair County line.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s PIO Lt. Randy Christian says the bullet passed through the passenger door of the truck and struck the child who was standing outside the truck.
Paramedics treated the little girl who was then transported to Children’s Hospital.

The Sheriffs Office reports that the injury appears to be non life threatening and the child is expected to fully recover.

And it should be happened not happenen.  It seems that many “professional” do not know how to turn on their spellchecker.  If anyone watches NBC 13, you will find spelling errors almost every newscast.

I don’t mean to down play this but a child can’t be “woulded”  it’s “wounded”  you guys are suppose to be professionals, and should have spell check on your computer.

I hope the uncle had good insurance coverage. For those who would say it
it wrong to bring a claim against
a loving relative,think about this.
That child did nothing wrong. Can uncle say the same? Gun Deaths, Hunting Accidents, Accidental Firearm Discharges all have one thing in common.
Carelessnes, Negligence call it whatever you what it injures and kills far to many innocent victims each year.
Guns don’t care; but people are supposed to.

i belive the appropriate question would be why wasnt the safety on?...and if it didnt have a safety then why was it loaded in the first place? i keep a loaded gun regaurdlesswho is on the property, i however will not handle the gun with a child in the same room or in the house for that matter
