Flood waters are still plaguing a west
Alabama city following last week’s torrential rainfall.

The Demopolis area and communities in neighboring Greene County
have been inundated after the Black Warrior and Tombigee rivers
spilled their banks on Sunday.

Some residents said river levels are at their highest since
2001. The city’s last major flood was in 1979.

There is some good news, both waterways have begun receding.

The Black Warrior is expected to fall below flood stage on
Wednesday. The Tombigbee is projected to fall by Saturday morning.

There have no reports of injuries.
