Economic Expansion In Mobile County And Prattville

Even in this time of a troubled national economy, some Alabama cities are seeing business growth. In Mobile County, global steel producer SSAB, which is based in Sweden, says it will expand it’s south Alabama operation, SSAB says it will spend $460 million dollars to grow its facility near the Axis community. The expansion will create 180 new jobs.
In Prattville, the city council has approved incentives to bring a new shopping center to the central Alabama city. The vote smooths the way for The Exchange at HomePlace, which will host businesses Academy Sports and Outdooors, Hobby Lobby and Kohl’s.
