Jefferson County officials are investigating a deadly mobile home fire. It happened Friday at home in the 9300 block of Dad’s Hill Road in the Trafford-Warrior area.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office and Mayor Sue Calvert of County Line, 55-year old Juanita Calvert and 14-year old Micah Edwards died in the fire. Several different fire departments responded. Warrior, West Blount and even officials from Kimberly worked hard to knock down the blaze, but the house is a total loss.

Some people said it will haunt the people that knew them, including Mayor Calvert who is a distant relative.

“I think Juanita was always quick with a smile. She was very kind and wanted to help people and liked doing good things. That’s what I remember about Juanita she was a real sweet person,“ said Calvert.

The coroner will perform autopsies to officially identify the victims through dental records. No word on funeral arrangements.
