Hoover Police say they have a man in custody suspected of stealing gas from a station at the intersection of Riverchase Parkway and Valleydale Road.

Officers responded to an alarm call at the Sunny Foods Shell station this morning shortly after midnight.

Police say the suspects were using two pickup trucks that had been specially modified for stealing gas. Both trucks have been impounded.

A 30-year-old Ensley man was arrested, and Hoover Police are working to identify the additional suspects.

Authorities say this was the fourth gas theft at Sunny Foods since June 25. Officials say new measures have been put in place to prevent future thefts.

Police say the suspect in custody will be charged with felony theft.
