Hoover Police Arrest Suspect in Gasoline Thefts

Authorties are holding 30 year old Lamond Demetric Chapman at the Shelby County jail on charges of 2nd degree felony theft. He’s being held under a $15,000 bond.
Chapman is suspected of stealing gasoline from the holding tanks at Sunny Foods (Shell) at the intersection of Rivershase Parkway and Valleydale Road.
Detectives are continuing their investigation, and are working to identify additional suspects in this case. Police say the theives were using two pick-up trucks which had been modified for the purpose of stealing gasoline. Both trucks have been impounded.
