The Jefferson County Commission is set to add to the new team of advisors working to renegotiate the structure of the county’s $3 billion sewer debt.
In a scheduled gathering to set the agenda for its upcoming meeting, commissioners added a resolution to hire international financial firm Citigroup.
The commission will formally vote on the hiring next Tuesday.
Citigroup would join other local and regional agencies hired earlier this month to work on the debt issue.
The county’s original financial team was fired two weeks ago after six months of work yielded no agreeable plan to restructure the sewer debt.
