Jefferson County Waits For Governor Riley

The Jefferson County Commission has yet to receive a formal response from Governor Bob Riley on the county’s request for special legislative session to consider a three billion dollar sewer debt resolution plan.

The plan would use sales and occupational taxes along with collected sewer system payments to cover the debt over the next 40 years.

6 pm at the Jefferson County Courthouse in Room 370.
