Birmingham Police are investigating a bank robbery in the northern part of the city.
It happened just after 9 a.m. at a Wachovia Bank branch on 29th Avenue North and 26th Street North.
In a news release from the BPD, an armed suspect walked into the bank, and demanded money from a teller.
The suspect left on foot, with the loot.
Birmingham Police received a report of a suspect vehicle.
Moments later, an officer spotted the suspect vehicle, and took 2 suspects into custody a few blocks away from the bank.
The stolen money was also recovered.
There were no reported injuries.
The bank is located about two blocks away from the Birmingham Police Department’s North Precinct.

I just want to say that I think it was pretty crazy for someone to rob a bank so close to the police station.  The suspects are either on some serious drugs or life has thrown them a serious curve and they were at their wits ends.  I am not saying that what they have done is acceptable, I just think that maybe they need someone to talk too about whatever is going on with them individually.
