Multiple Burglaries Suspect Caught In Jefferson County

A suspected burglar in the McCalla and Pleasant Grove areas has been captured.
According to a news release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Tenaureous Thomas, 17, of Dolomite, has been arrested and charged.
Authorities believe Thomas may be responsible for committing at least 20 burglaries over the past few weeks.
15 of the burglaries occurred in the McCalla area during two weeks in August of 2008.
Six more burglaries were committed in the Pleasant Grove in the first week of September 2008.
In one of the burglaries, the suspect was surprised by a homeowner, and fired shots at the homeowner when running away from the house.
The homeowner was not injured.
Thomas was captured Friday night, September 5, 2008, after leaving a relatives home in Fairfield.
Thomas is in the Jefferson County Jail on charges of Armed Burglary, Burglary, Theft, and Attempted Murder.
