Birmingham Police are investigating the city’s second bank robbery in one day.

Investigators said just after 1:00 pm.Wednesday, a man dressed as a woman entered the Compass Bank branch at 701 20th Street South.  He was wearing a black, straight wig, black sweatpants, a camoflauge hooded sweatshirt and was carrying a brown purse with a zipper.

According to the police report, the man gave a teller a check with a message written on the back.  It said, “If you don’t give me all of the 50s and 100s, I’ll kill you.“

The robber took that money and asked for more cash, but when the teller turned to get more, the man left.

If you can identify the suspect, call the Birmingham Police Department.

Earlier in the day, two men held up the branch of America’s First Credit Union on Frankfurt Circle off Lakeshore Drive.
Those suspects are still at large.
