Police Seek Public’s Help In Hit And Run Accident

TUSCALOOSA-Accident investigators with the Tuscaloosa Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in solving a recent hit and run case.
Police reports indicate the accident happened at around 1:40am on Sunday June 15th, 2008. The victim was crossing 13th Ave (between 8th & 6th Streets) in a wheel chair when he was struck by a car that then fled the scene. The car was initially reported to be a dark colored Buick LeSabre, but investigators say it could be a Dodge Neon. No information is available regarding the driver or passengers in the vehicle. The victim in the hit and run accident was transported to DCH and was treated and released. It is believed he had knee surgery, was kept for a couple of days and then released. After the impact, the vehicle left the scene, traveling southbound on 13th Ave. The vehicle should have damage to the left front bumper, hood and windshield.
