The chancellor of Troy University says he is considering a run for Alabama’s governor in 2010.

Jack Hawkins, 63, has been the chancellor at Troy for nearly two decades.

During his time as chancellor, Troy University has doubled in size.

Hawkins, who grew up in Mobile, says he is a Republican.

He has discussed the possibility of running for office with his wife, Janice, and their two daughters Katie and Kelly.
