HUEYTOWN, Ala.—- Hueytown Police released the identities of the three shooting victims in this morning’s murder suicide that triggered a three hour standoff.
Chief Chuck Hagler said 25 year old Fuzell Morton shot and killed 39 year old Shelia Howard and also shot 22 year old Jimyshia Howard before Morton apparently turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.
Howard was transported to UAB hospital with a gunshot wound to the head and remains in critical condition.
Hagler told NBC13 HD they’ve responded to multiple domestic calls at the 405 Carver Avenue address, but no one was ever arrested.
Neighbors called police after hearing screaming and a gunshot around 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police set up a four square block perimeter and made multiple attempts to contact those on the inside of the residence.
Hagler claimed a five year old boy was home at the time of the shooting and Morton let him go after police surrounded the home.
Howard’s death is Hueytown’s first homicide in about two years.
