US Senate Confirms Homewood Woman As Brigadier

HOMEWOOD, Ala. (AP)—A longtime Homewood resident has become the first woman in the Army Acquisition Corps to be named a brigadier general.
Army Col. N. Lee S. Price was confirmed by the U.S. Senate for the rank of brigadier general after being nominated by Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
Price is also the first woman to become a general officer while serving in a special operations unit.
It is not yet known when she will formally receive her brigadier’s star and what kind of command assignment she will receive.
