BIRMINGHAM- The City of Birmingham and Jefferson County are partnering together to host the 8th annual Recycling Day Wednesday, October 29th. It will be held at Linn Park on 20th Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The City of Birmingham and Jefferson County Recycles Day Committee host the event to allow citizens to recycle their Yellow Pages and Electronic Waste.
Environmental groups will be on site to educate the public about environment and recycling.
Steve Trash will perform in a special program for the children from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Boutwell Auditorium.
Accepted Items for Recycles Day:
Yellow Pages, Personal Computers, Televisions ($10.00 processing fee), Monitors, LCD Screen, Flat Screen monitors, VCR’s, Radios, Stereos, DVD Players, Microwaves, Power supplies, rechargeable batteries, vacuums, banking equipment, Telephones, Pagers, Networking Equipment, Laptops, Keyboards, Mice, power cables, Medical equipment (non hazardous), Printers, Copy machines, Servers, HUBS, Ink cartridges, toner cartridges, remotes, modems, projectors, cameras.
Unaccepted Items for Recycles Day:
Refrigerators, Washers, Clothes Dryers, dish washers, Mercury contained devices (thermometers, fire alarms), hazardous chemicals/materials, light bulbs, florescent tubes, bio-waste.
Don’t forget to bring your yellow pages telephone books and your old cellular phones for recycling. They will have a drive-thru for your e-waste.
