One local high school now has its own fruit orchard. The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation has been at Wenonah High School all weekend. The organization is helping students to plant fruit bearing trees and shrubs.

The foundation is an international non-profit organization that brings fruit trees to different communities. The goal is to fight global warming and provide nutrition.

Wenonah High School will use the orchard in art classes to provide interesting subjects for painting and drawing. It will also use the orchard in home economics classes for ingredients.

Students planted pomegranate, paw-paw, juju, peach, apple and fig trees. They also planted blackberry and blueberry shrubs.
