TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - University of Alabama linebacker Ezekial
Knight is apparently looking to play football at a smaller school.
Faulkner University coach Jim Nichols told The Birmingham News
that the senior spoke with him about enrolling at Faulkner.
Knight is set to graduate in August and has not yet been
medically cleared for the 2008 season.
Nichols said he looked into whether Knight could come to the
Montgomery-based NAIA school. He said it’s not possible because
Alabama hasn’t officially stated Knight’s status. His name is still
on the official Tide roster.
Knight has been dealing with heart problems since 2006, but was
cleared to play in 2007 and made 64 tackles. He had a setback
during winter conditioning and hasn’t been cleared to play this
year.
