Tuberville meeting with Auburn officials

    AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville will hold
additional meetings with the athletic director following a
disappointing 5-7 season and a lopsided loss to archrival Alabama.
    Tuberville met Monday with Auburn University President Jay Gogue
and athletic director Jay Jacobs. The school issued a statement
afterward saying more meetings are planned between Jacobs and
Tuberville to discuss plans for improving the program under
Tuberville’s leadership.
    Similar talks between Jacobs and Tuberville yielded a two-year
contract extension for Tuberville last year.
    Tuberville’s current contract with Auburn continues through 2013
at an average salary of $3.3 million annually. Auburn would have to
pay $6 million to get out the deal.
